About Volunteers In Medicine Clinic Of Monroe County


Provides a free, quality primary and preventive care for both chronic and acute illnesses. The following services are also available at no cost:
medications for chronic and acute illnesses with only a low-cost handling fee
health education
psychological counseling
diagnostic laboratory and radiology testing at Bloomington Hospital
women's health
spine clinic
orthopedics
behavioral and mental health
dental care
pediatric care

For dental care, patients will be evaluated at the clinic, and then will be referred to participating local dentists.

To be eligible for services:
Must reside in Monroe County
Must earn income lower than the 200% of the federal poverty level
Must not have health insurance.

Hours
Medical Appointments
Monday and Thursday: 8:00a - 8:00p
Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday: 8:00a -5:00p

The last patient appointment is 45 minutes before VIM closes.

Walk-in slots are limited to acute issues only. Acute means a sudden start to symptoms, such as colds, strep throat, severe nausea and vomiting, injury or urinary tract infections. Each patient will be evaluated by a nurse to assess symptoms and to determine if the condition needs a visit with a provider. Walk-in patients might be given an appointment for the next day.

Eligibility: (no appointment necessary)
Monday-Friday: 8:00a -11:00am; 1:00p-4:00p

Pharmacy Hours
Monday-Friday: 9:00a - noon; 1:30p-4:00p
Mon & Thurs evening, close at 7:00p

Prescription refills are not done on a walk-in basis. Please call in refills a few days before needed.
